1. RULES & REGULATIONS OF EXPORTER LICENCE / REGISTRATION:
Exporter licence is issued by the Board under Spices Board Act 1986, Spices Board Rules 1987 and the Spices Board (Registration of Exporter) Regulation 1989.
2. WHAT IS CRES?
CRES stands for Certificate of Registration as Export of Spices.
3. WHY A CRES IS NEEDED FOR EXPORT?
In case of export/import of Spices/Spice products, Certificate of Registration as Exporter of Spices issued by the Board is mandatory in addition to the IEC. Spices Board issues Certificate of Registration as Exporter of Spices [CRES] under Section 11 of the Spices Board Act.
4. WHAT IS IEC?
IEC Stands for IMPORTER EXPORTER CODE
5. WHO REQUIRES AN IEC?
Any bonafide person/ company looking to enter import – Export business must obtain IE code .
6 CAN EXPORT / IMPORT BE MADE WITHOUT IEC?
No. IEC forms a primary document for recognition by Govt. of India as an Exporter/ Importer
7. WHO ISSUES AN IEC?
IEC is issued by Directorate General of Foreign Trade and its regional offices established all over India.

9. HOW CAN I APPLY FOR CRES?
From May 2022, application for CRES should be submitted online (DGFT). If you have obtained IE code , you can login to the website of the DGFT. Link your IEC with your profile.You can File eRCMC application.
10. WHERE CAN I GET THE ERCMC USER MANNUAL?
Visit Spices Board website www.indianspices.com or www.indianspices.org.in under the head Marketing> Registration and Licencing> Exporter
11. WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING THE REGISTRATION AS EXPORTER OF SPICES?
Step 1: You have to apply for an IE Code from the Director General/Joint Director general of Foreign Trade office situated in your proposed area of operation/business.

Step 2: Get a Confidential Report from your operating Bank as per the format available in the boards website.

Step 3; Get GST certificate from the tax authorities

Step 4: Get the Central FSSAI Certificte

Step 5:If the registration is required as Manufacturer exporter.

Following documents to be submitted in addition to the aforementioned documents;
  1.Copy of MSME
  2.Valid Copy of Consent to Operate issued by Pollution Control Board (PCB)
  3.Proof of Ownership of the Building of the Processing Unit (Copy of Valid Lease / Rent Agreement /Recent Property Tax Receipt)

Step 6:Application fee to be remitted through payment Gateway.
12. WHAT SHALL I SELECT AS ‘NAME OF EXPORT PROMOTION COUNCIL/COMMODITY BOARD’ FOR ‘CRES’ APPLICATION?

13. WHAT SHALL I SELECT FOR ‘NO. OF YEARS MEMBERSHIP APPLIED FOR *’?
‘No. of Years Membership Applied for’ should always be ‘3 Years’ followed by the Current Financial Year.
14. WHY AM I GETTING AN ‘ERROR MESSAGE- PLEASE SELECT AT LEAST ONE FEE CONFIGURATION.’ OR WHY CANNOT I SEE ANY PAYMENT DETAILS FOR MY APPLICATION?
Payment details shall only be fetched if your application details are valid for issuance of ‘CRES’.

i. Please check the 'Category of Exporters' selected. It has to be either Merchant or Manufacturer for issuance of CRES.
ii. Please check whether the ‘No. of Years Membership Applied for *’ selected is valid. ‘No. of Years Membership Applied for’ should always be ‘3 Years’.
15. WHETHER I NEED TO OPT FOR TDS ?
NO
16. WHAT IS THE FEE FOR FRESH CRES APPLICATION?
The application fee for a Merchant Exporter is Rs. 10,000.00 + 18% GST, totaling Rs. 11,800.00/- For a Manufacturer, the application fee is Rs. 15,000.00 + 18% GST, amounting to Rs. 17,700.00/-.
17. WHAT IS THE FEE FOR AMENDMENT CRES APPLICATION?
The application fee for a Merchant/Manufacture Exporter is Rs. 5,000.00 + 18% GST, totaling Rs. 5,900.00/-.
18. WHAT IS THE FEE FOR RENEWAL OF CRES APPLICATION?
The application fee for a Merchant Exporter is Rs. 7,000.00 + 18% GST, totaling Rs. 8,850.00./- For a Manufacturer, the application fee is Rs. 10000.00 + 18% GST, amounting to Rs. 11800.00/-.
19. WHERE CAN I GET INVOICE FOR PAID ‘APPLICATION FEE’ ?
Invoice is auto-generated by our ‘Payment Gateway Partner’ and shall be available in your application ‘Payment Details’ once the payment has been processed successfully,
20. HOW I KNOW THE STATUS OF MY APPLICATION.
Your application status can be viewed in the DGFT website; Dash Board--> Submitted Application or In your Recent activities.The status would be changing based on the processing of such application.
21. WHAT IS THE VALIDITY OF THE CRES?
Certificate of Registration as Exporter is valid for a three years from the date of Issue.
22. WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE, IF THERE IS ANY CHANGE IN THE ADDRESS OR ADDITION OF BRANCHES.
File an amedment application through DGFT for Any changes in the address/ addition of branches in exsisting CRES.
23. CHANGE OF ENTITY/CONSTITUTION OF THE FIRM.
Existing registration Certificate shall be deemed to be expired and a fresh certificate shall be required.
24. SUSPENSION OR CANCELLATION OF CRES.
Registration can be suspended/cancelled under the Spices Board Act & Rules and the power delegated to Spices Board.
25. CAN I HAVE MORE THAN ONE CRES?
No. Only one CRES would be issued against a single IE code number. Any proprietor can have only one IEC number. In case of more branches under one IEC which need to be incorporated in the CRES, an endorsement of address would be done.
26. RETURNS TO BE SUBMITTED BY THE EXPORTER
All registered exporters have to submit their quarterly returns through online via www.indianspices.com Marketing>Exporters> Export support system and submission of Quarterly Export Returns
27. DURATION FOR ISSUE OF CRES/MODE OF DESPATCH
License can be issued in one week on receipt of application and complete documents. Exporter can download the licence from DGFT.
28. WHEN THE CRES HAS TO BE RENEWED?
Renewal application can be filed through DGFT on expiry of the validity of the Certificate.
